A plumber needs to install a sink using pieces of pipe measuring 6-3/4 inches (read that as “six and three-quarters inches”), 10-2/3 inches, 5-1/6 inches and 3-1/8 inches.
Find the total length of pipe needed to cut all the pieces. (Rock on, Colleagues!)
Fractions, Fractions Fractions!
We have massaged, manipulated and generally manhandled fractions all week. We have searched for LCDs using LCMs, cross-multiplication and a few other methods some of us remember. We have looked at real world examples like batting averages, rainfall tables, dartboard scores and saves by a goalie. We have added them and subtracted them. Starting Monday we are going to multiply and divide them and we will properly deal with the Improper Fraction!
Math 7 Hwk – Past & Present
Past homework was given on page 209 #8 thru #19, and any two from #20 thru #23. We also had to finish up our two worksheets on Simplifying Fractions and and Comparing Fractions. We then took a look at the little brain teaser about the Royal Family and their bowl of mangoes. (Period 5 has to bring in their ideas on how to work it out!)
Current homework is page 230, questions #13-34.
