The Ident-A-Kid Program will be here on Friday, December 4.  Students will be coming home with more information explaining the program soon!

FAMILY MATH NIGHT

Mark your calendar for LUES Family Math Night, Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Bragg Hill Family Life Center.   The theme is LUES Key Night…Kids, Educators and You.  Enjoy a family evening of dinner and fun with your child as you explore the world of math engaging in math games that teach.

H1N1 VACCINES – NOVEMBER 11, 2009

H1N1 vaccines MAY be available on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at LUES at 5:30 P.M.  This is tentative and dependant on vaccine availablility from the Health Department.  Please keep checking this website for updates or for notices your child may bring home.  Updates will be posted on the school e-Alerts. 

Some Reminders:

  • The clinic will begin at 5:30 P.M.  Families should not arrive at the school before 4:30 P.M.
  • There is no cost for the H1Ni vaccine.
  • The vaccine is being offered to all students enrolled in FCPS, Head Start, and their siblings.  We will not vaccinate parents.
  • The vaccines are first come, first serve, until the supply is exhausted.
  • Students with fevers will not be vaccinated.
  • There will be nurses available to answer your questions about this vaccine.  You may also visit www.cdc.gov for more information.

PUMPKIN FUN RUN

Due to the flu clinic on Wednesday, November 4, there will NOT be any after school programs!

ADOPT-A-CLASSROOM

Parents, we invite you to adopt your child’s classroom for the 2009-2010 school year.  As an Adopt-A-lassroom parent, you would help to enrich the classroom experience and increase both the teachers’ and students’ chances for success.  As a sponsor, you or your business would donate a tax-deductible gift of any amount form $25.00 to 500.00 to your child’s classroom.  Your total donation (100%) would be given to your child’s teacher.  In turn, your child’s teacher would be able to purchase classroom supplies and resources.  If you are interested or need more information, please contact Mrs. Andrea Bumbrey, Assistant Principal.  Congratulations to the following teachers whose classroom has been “adopted”.

MAKE-UP SCHOOL PICTURES

Make-Up School Pictures will be taken on November 20, 2009. They will be

taken from 8:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.  All pictures will be pre-paid.  Students

will bring information home soon!
