Library Books
All library books are due by May 29. Overdue notices will be sent home with students on June 1 to remind them to return their books. If you have a question about overdue or missing items, please call Mrs. Karen Duffy.
Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to Ms. Lauren DeLesDernier for being selected as Lafayette’s Teacher of the Year for 2009.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
Friday, June 12 is the last day of school. All students will be dismissed at 12:45 p.m. Students will enjoy a faculty talent show and drawings for SOL prizes that morning.
AWARDS ASSEMBLIES
The end-of-year Awards Assemblies will be held on June 11 in the cafeteria at the following times:
8:45 a.m. ~ 3rd grade
9:45 a.m. ~ 4th grade
1:45 p.m. ~ 5th grade
DONUTS FOR DADS
The PTA is sponsoring Donuts for Dad on Friday, June 5 from 7:45 a.m.-8:10 a.m. in the cafeteria.
FIELD DAY
Field Day will now be held on Monday, June 8. All grades will enjoy field activities from 8:45-10:45 a.m.
SOL TESTING
SOL tests continue through June 4. Please make certain that your child has a good breakfast each morning and comes to school on time. Students who are tardy to a testing session will be required to take a make-up test.

SUMMER PROGRAMS
Summer School and Summer Scholars programs will take place at Lafayette this summer. These four-week programs will be held from 9:15-12:15 Monday through Thursday. If you need additional information, please contact the front office.
TDAP BOOSTER
Virginia State Law requires children to have a Tdap booster shot for entry to the sixth grade if at least five years have passed since their last shot. Rising sixth grade students will not be admitted to school in September without this immunization.
