ROTC Scholarship Presentation

Juniors & Seniors if you are interested in the ROTC Scholarship program, please secure a pass from Mrs.Ripley on November 21st or November 24th for a presentation in the lecture hall on Nov. 24th from 9:30 – 10:30 am with Gunnery Sgt. Turner from the US Marine Corps. Attendance will be taken.

College Applications

Please submit any college applications which must be mailed from the counseling center before the Winter break by December 5th. Download the college’s secondary school report form for your school counselor to complete. Submit it to Mrs. Ripley when you request yor transcript with your college application.

Young Life meeting

Young Life will meet every Friday in the lecture hall (room 120) from 3 – 4 p.m. See Mr. Yager if you have questions.

University of Mary Washington

A representative from the University of Mary Washington will be at JM on Monday, November 17th during all lunch waves. Please stop by and see what UMW has to offer you for your post high school career.

Cross Country Team Members

All cross country team members should turn in their clean uniforms, warm-ups, and bags to Coach Lovegrove this week.

 

Senior Graduation Order Day

Seniors, if you missed the assembly yesterday you can pick up a packet from guidance to order your cap & gown. The Jostens Representative will be at James Monroe on Nov. 18 & 19th during all lunch waves for seniors to place their Cap& Gown and Graduation Announcement orders. A $60.00 deposit is required for all Jostens announcements and other Josten items.

League of Extraordinary Young Women

All members of the LEYW are expected to attend the meeting on Wednesday to hear our guest speaker, Vernice Armour, the 1st African-American female fighter pilot. We will meet in the lecture hall, room 120 at 3:15 p.m. Bring a friend.

College Applications

November 14th is the last day to turn in college applications for processing before Thanksgiving Break and December 1st deadlines.

Boys Basketball Tryouts

Boys’ basketball tryouts will be held on Monday, November 10th at 6:30 p.m. Please bring a completed physical form and your report card.

Young Life Meeting

Young Life will meet on Friday, November 7th from 3-4 in the lecture hall.

Girls Basketball Tryouts

Girls’ Basketball tryouts begin on Monday, November 10th at 3:15 p.m. for all girls wanting to tryout for the basketball team. You must have 3 passing grades and a completed VHSL physical in order to tryout. Please meet in the gym, bring your report card and be on time. Any questions, please see Coach Bumbrey in room 118.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet on November 7th and November 21st at 7:15 a.m. in the Lecture Hall. All are welcome.

French Club

Le Salon will resume the first Wednesday in November.

Norwich University Representative

A representative from Norwich University will be at JM on Wednesday, Nov. 5th  in the commons during lunch waves.

Senior Dues

Seniors dues are $50.00 and must be paid or senior will be placed on the school debt list. Seniors who owe a debt to JM will not receive their diploma at graduation on June 12th, 2009. See Mrs. Thacher to pay your dues or if you have questions.

Girls Softball

Girls’ Softball conditioning will be held Monday – Thursday at 3 p.m.

Monroe Singers

The Monroe Singers will be selling pizza after school on Tuesdays in the common’s.
